little treasures

These wonderful felt booties were hand made by the lovely Marieke of Treats and Treasures for Akira. I really admire her delicate hand, such even and tiny stitches,  much like the little containter she made me for my birthday

Her gorgeous package of goodies arrived on a particularly difficult week for me (Keith had just returned to work after 6 weeks of the most perfect family time), it was awesome to know someone so far away (in Amsterdam) was thinking of us.

This print, a Marieke Berghuis original was something I had been admiring for a while, it was so sweet of her to remember.

I'm learning so much as a new mom, I realize now more than ever that the support and love from friends are as important if not more important than any of the stuff you read about in parenting books.

I'm off to part deux of my birthday festivities, tonight will be about laughs and drinks with good friends.
Speaking of birthday, Marieke sent me a little birthday envelope full of stickers and cards (the one pictured is from port2port press) and this beautiful box which I believe is based on her felt box I was admiring the other day. It was such an unexpected surprise, and the pacakge arrived on my actual birthday which made it all the more sweet. Thanks so much Marieke for making my day brighter.
