gettin' ready

I'm not sure what this is for but it's super cute, found it at a thrift store, it's marked made in Japan.
Cotton Balls maybe?

Our newest roomate is soon to arrive, he's due in 3 weeks!
Our friends have been so incredibly generous, most everything we've been stockpiling have been gifts and lovingly used hand me -downs.
Look at those cute little VANS!!!

We plan to share our room with our little guy for a while, our friends gave us this very handy "co-sleeper" but
it needed some brightening  up so I made a few different sheets for the mattress. The numbers fabric was an old kids bed sheet I found at Ikea a few years ago, the animal sheets and the little boy and girl head sheets are vintage.

We started converting our studio into the baby's room about a month ago, we're almost finished with it (the above pic was taken a while back) I'll post picks when we're all done!

i heart seersucker

I made this tote out of seercsucker for a girlfriend ( a bridal shower gift)

a new family heirloom.
Keith's aunt made this incredible doile for us as a wedding gift (Mack is Keith's last name)

a very good day

We got hitched on the roof of the Standard Hotel in Downtown (our favorite summer spot.)
It rained a bit, so everyone had their umbrellas, very romantic and good luck!
The center photo are the cake toppers I made, which we ended up leaving in our hotel room...so I had to show someone:)
My bouquet (which my friend Amy tells me is called a nosegay) I made with Paperwhite Narcissus, Jonquil Daffodils and white Ranuculus.

My friend Virgina had the genius idea of having litte badges made for her wedding favors, and asked me to design them.
It was so much fun!!!

card party

Hi Everyone!!!!! It's been way too long!
My computer issues have been resolved, and I'm back in blog action :)

The cards above are both gocco'd with construction paper tags sewn on top.
The cards on top were our wedding invitations, the clouds don't show up as well on the vanilla color paper, I made the map in illustrator.
Below that is our thank you card, our wedding vows to each other were lyrics from Judas Priests' "Turbo Lover" , so perfect...hence the theme of the thank you card.

tiger for alistair

This was commissioned by Suzy of Floating World Views, for her little boy Alistair.

I made him a little pouch to go with it. I hope he likes it!

We're leaving for Hawaii, and as soon as we get back it's wedding time!!

We're off to Hawaii tomorrow, and ipod needed a cozy.

maternity shmaternity

I have to say I have NOT been excited at all about most of the maternity clothes out there,
especially in the jeans department. Up to about month 5 I was able to get away with the rubber band
through the button hole trick, but now that I'm up to month 6, there's just no way around it.
Every pair of materiny jeans I've tried on were just too baggy and unflattering for my taste, so I decided to alter my own.
Inspired by this young lady's methods see here .

it was so easy and I'm really happy with the outcome, I took 2 more pairs and did the same.
Pregnant people can have variety too!! Better belly pic here.

totes galore

I made this oversized tote for my friend Wendy, a new mama.
Seersucker lined with cotton. (click for closer look) that's me on the right with my big baby belly

this is the opposite of oversized, it's a mini-tote for my friend Gina's little one year old, Hana.

a christmas gift for my old friend Jackie, it's tweed lined with seersucker, I thought it was a fun contrasting combo, there are buttons on both sides.
